We are super excited to announce that the Wildflower Climbing Gym is hosting the NKBV Dutch National Bouldering Championships 2023 on March 11th!
The Competition
Over the last few months, the best Dutch boulderers have been competing for a spot at the National Bouldering Championships 2023. The top ten qualifying competitors have earned their place in the big battle where they will be fighting for both the National title and qualification spots for this year’s international competition season.
The comp will take place on Saturday, March 11th at Wildflower in Leiden. The day will start with semi-finals (free for spectators), followed by the finals for the top six qualifiers. A ticketed entry is required for the finals.
Here’s the schedule of the day
• 12:30 gym open for spectators (free entry)
• 13:00-14:30 women’s semi-finals
• 16:00-17:30 men’s semi-finals
• 18:00 gym open for spectators (finals, €15 entrance fee)

Tickets & Livestream
Semi-finals begin at 13:00 and are free for spectators, who can arrive from 12:30. For finals, tickets can be purchased at this link – get yours quickly because they will sell out fast!
During the day we’ll have food and drinks for sale, some exciting side events, and the great community you know and love!
Can’t make it to Leiden on the 11th or too late to get your tickets? Don’t worry – the whole competition will be streamed live on YouTube. Keep an eye out on our socials and on the NKBV boulder website for the link.
Volunteers & Practical Info
We will need volunteers to help with several tasks on and around the day of the competition: building and deconstructing bleachers and a warm-up wall, taking out and washing holds, brushing holds during the finals, and helping out with food and drinks. Volunteers will get free entry for the full day, as well as meals and drinks. We would love to have the help of our wonderful community to make this day a success, so if you are interested in volunteering, please contact us!
Finally, we will need to close the gym for a few days before the event. On Monday and Tuesday 6-7 March, the walls will be emptied for the routesetting team, and on Wednesday-Friday the routes, bleachers and other equipment will be put up. The boulders from the final round will stay on the walls for a few weeks after the comp, so you can get a chance to give them a try!
